The H.W. Culp Lumber Company Procurement Department is responsible for procuring and delivering Southern Pine saw timber to the mill to meet the annual production of 90 million board feet.
Culp Lumber Company purchases standing pine and hardwood timber stands within a 100 mile radius of New London, NC. This allows for purchases from Morganton to the West, Raleigh to the East, Cheraw SC to the South and the Virginia boarder to the North. These stands are logged with company logging crews which are all certified NCFA ProLoggers. Culp also offers forest management advice and coordinates re-forestation plans at the landowner’s request.
Since 1995, Culp has been active in the NCFA’s Pro-Logger program. This program is designed to provide professional loggers continuing education and keep loggers current on new laws, environmental standards, safety, and efficient logging practices. In an effort to be stewards to the forestry and logging community, Culp Lumber Co annually co-sponsors a Logger Safety Training day with Forestry Mutual Insurance of North Carolina.
Culp Lumber Co. is also a corporate member of the North Carolina Forestry Association and a certified participating member of the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI). Sustainable Forestry Initiative Certification Number 092501-01 This program ensures that we hold the company, our loggers and the landowners to high environmental standards to protect and preserve our forest lands for future generations.
